The major challenges of remote learning is disparity in acess - electricity, internet connection,
inavailability of devices like computers and smartphone.
Frequent power cuts in rural and some
urban areas impose a big hurdle for virtual classes. According to the data from Mission Antyodaya , 20% of India's house holds received less than 8 hours of electricity and only only 47% households received electricity for more than 12 hours.Without electricity it's not possible for students to study on devices like computer. According to data of pew study of year 2019 ,only 24% of Indians have a smartphone So students who don't have smartphone will not able to access online education .Virtual classes consumes lots of data, due to insufficient data many students are not able to attend virtual classes . As there no income during lockdown many lower income groups students can not afford extra data package . According to one survey of NSO,in India only 14.9% of rural and 42% of urban households have internet facility. In rural India many Students are not able to operate computer and Smartphones due to lack of technical knowledge. A peaceful environment and separate room to listen online classes is a luxury and many students can't afford it. Many teachers also are not able to Operate technology ,since they have never taught online .
So it can be concluded that complete online education is not a successful solution for education in India
